Mary Thomas is an AANP board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in hormone optimization, medical weight management, wellness, and aesthetic medicine. She holds bachelor's degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Nursing, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing. She is licensed in multiple states, allowing her to care for patients both in person and through telehealth.
Mary's approach to patient care is centered on understanding the whole picture. Rather than looking at symptoms or laboratory values in isolation, she considers a patient's health history, symptoms, lifestyle, goals, and individual circumstances when developing a treatment plan. Her background in cultural anthropology complements this approach and helped shape an early interest in understanding people through more than a single lens.
At Atlas Health Institute, Mary works with women and men seeking care for hormone-related concerns, perimenopause and menopause, testosterone optimization, medical weight management, and overall wellness. She believes patients should understand what is happening in their bodies and why a particular treatment is—or isn't—appropriate for them. Her approach emphasizes education, shared decision-making, and treatment plans tailored to the individual rather than a predetermined protocol.
Mary also brings nearly a decade of experience in aesthetic medicine. Her work includes injectable treatments and facial rejuvenation, with an emphasis on thoughtful treatment planning and natural-looking results. She approaches aesthetics much like the rest of her practice: by evaluating the individual in front of her rather than applying the same treatment to everyone.
Outside of work, Mary has a creative streak and loves painting, art, and DIY projects. She's also an avid weight lifter, bad-but-trying golfer, and lover of baking. At home, life revolves around her three cats and she wears her 'Cat Lady' badge with pride.
